Points awarded towards his Championship

Cher-ade's Summer Breeze, known as 'Winston Wilkes', was born on, Saturday July 30, 2005, the second of seven golden retriever puppies. His father is BIS, BISS, CH Scion Oughta Be A Law, NA, NAJ, CGC, SDHF, and his mother is F Stop's Go Go Gadget. He was a beautiful powerful Golden with soft honey coloring, white accent feathering, black pigmentation, masculine head and showed in hard condition from his exercise.

Winston was very intelligent, confident and had the, "I'm in charge attitude." At times, if he didn't want to do something he might pause to think about it first but since he is obedience trained he will do what he is told.  Winston was a conformation dog and loved travel and seek new challenges, eager to learn , curious, not scared, animated, loving, very social with other dogs in his kennel group while on the show circuit. He was accumulating points toward his championship. Winston was the alpha dog over his brother although his brother thinks he is.  When he was spoken to by his family he looked up and wanted to know what to do next.  He was always carrying a toy, a tennis ball, or his towel around in his mouth, especially in the evening in the house. Not at all food oriented like Churchill, Winston would let things sit and not pick them up.  Winston was fearless and as a puppy in the whelping box slept through hurricane Katrina as it came on land in Mississippi.

Winston loved to have fun! As a golden retriever puppy, he was known as getting into things and playing nonstop. Winston never tired and continued all day. He played with the same toys as his brother, and whatever Churchill had at that moment, is what he Winston wanted. If Churchill has a towel in his crate Winston will somehow get it out so he could carry it around. Winston loved to run the fence with the neighbor dogs and play.  He was a wonderful retriever, running all the time and when it came to ending the day he always wants to fetch one more time.

Like his brother, Winston had many walks a day and exercised a lot all starting at 0430. He loved the  morning air and the excitement of a new day, as he made his way through the yard and down to get the morning newspaper on days that Churchill didn't. In the midday the trainer comes and it's home school time followed by a second round of high jumps and weave poles. In the evening more running and playing with his brother.

On the show circuit Winston was handled by Amy Duncan, Diane Steele and Eileen Hackeett but is also owner handled from time to time and was enjoyable to work with .

A very special golden retriever and a wonderful family member, Winston  went to Rainbow Bridge on September 23, 21013.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.

When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.

They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I'm Still Here

Friend, please don't mourn for me
I'm still here, though you don't see.
I'm right by your side each night and day
and within your heart I long to stay.

My body is gone but I'm always near.
I'm everything you feel, see or hear.
My spirit is free, but I'll never depart
as long as you keep me alive in your heart.

I'll never wander out of your sight-
I'm the brightest star on a summer night.
I'll never be beyond your reach-

I'm the warm moist sand when you're at the beach.

I'm the colorful leaves when fall comes around
and the pure white snow that blankets the ground.
I'm the beautiful flowers of which you're so fond,
The clear cool water in a quiet pond.

I'm the first bright blossom you'll see in the spring,
The first warm raindrop that April will bring.
I'm the first ray of light when the sun starts to shine,
and you'll see that the face in the moon is mine.

When you start thinking there's no one to love you,
you can talk to me through the Lord above you.
I'll whisper my answer through the leaves on the trees,
and you'll feel my presence in the soft summer breeze.

I'm the hot salty tears that flow when you weep
and the beautiful dreams that come while you sleep.
I'm the smile you see on a baby's face.
Just look for me, friend, I'm everyplace!

Summer Breeze

See the curtains hangin' in the window, in the evenin' on a Friday night.
A little light a-shinin' through the window, lets me know everything is alright.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.

See the paper layin' in the sidewalk, a little music from the house next door.
So I walked on up to the doorstep, through the screen and across the floor.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.

Sweet days of summer, the jasmine's in bloom. July is dressed up and playing her tune.
And I come home from a hard day's work, and you're waiting there, not a care in the world.
See the smile a-waitin' in the kitchen, food cookin' and the plates for two.
See the arms that reach out to hold me, in the evening when the day is through.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind.
